Every Wednesday afternoon since 1994, Carlsbad Village has has been home to the State Street Farmer’s Market. Featuring fresh local organic produce, flowers, crafts, live music and a variety of food vendors.
Besides the welcoming and laid back atmosphere, what I like most about farmer’s markets is discovering something new. So in the spirit of trying new things, I was invited to sample Superfood & Company’s kefir soda. Kefir soda is a non-alcoholic, probiotic cold pressed juice cultured with water kefir.
After sampling a least 3 flavors I ordered the Watermelon Punch, which is a delightfully fizzy mixture of watermelon, pineapple, coconut, apple and lime. I walked away with full cup AND a growler for later…I liked it that much!
The makers of Spring Hill Jersey Cheese had a smoked Gouda with an unbelievable melt-in-your-mouth texture and flavor. I think I’ll need to hide this one in the back of the fridge….
