A scenic hike along the Cantebria-Gardena Trail near the Encinitas Ranch Golf Course

Located right along Garden View Road in Encinitas is one of several trail heads for the scenic Cantebria-Gardena trail. This trail connects up with the Hidden Ridge Trail, the Ranch Loop and Quail Gardens Path.

There is no parking lot assigned for this particular point of access, but you can park over near Dick’s Sporting Goods and walk up to the trail head.
From there, the trail heads west, up an incline, toward the rusty-golden colored sandstone bluffs .
Once at the top you will be treated to beautiful east and west bluff-top views. From there you can choose from several different directions.
Continue west and you may see a peek at the ocean. Then head south for a walk along the south side of the Encinitas Ranch Golf Course
No matter what direction you go there is something beautiful to see along the way
